Phen Day Dhargyey Ling
Tibetan Buddhist Centre
34 Dudley St, Richmond, Christchurch
The Dhargyey Centre has been open for almost twenty years. In the past Five years, the Centre has had the enormous benefit of a resident teacher. In 2010 Venerable Geshe Nyima Dorjee travelled to Christchurch monthly to give regular teachings and moved there at the beginning of 2011.
Our Spiritual Director Venerable Lhagon Rinpoche named the Christchurch centre Phen Day Dhargyey Ling, Centre for the Source of Benefit and Happiness. Although the earthquakes claimed the first Centre premises, there is now a permanent Christchurch residence, where Geshe-la provides regular teachings:
- Tuesday Evenings 7.00 pm – “The Stages of The Path to Enlightenment”
- Sundays 10.00 am – “The Way of The Bodhisattva”
Thursday Evenings 7.00 pm – Guided Meditation Instruction
- Pujas occur twice a month: see website for dates.
There is no charge to attend the Centre.

In the wake of the Christchurch disaster Ven Geshe Nyima Dorjee was asked in Dunedin about the underlying causes for such experiences.
